Wow...busy week. We had a ton of meetings this week, just a ridiculous amount. And Elder Morris was on his way out, so he needed to say goodbye to everyone. For preparation day, we played pool at the Taylors and then deep cleaned the apartment. We also got fed by Luba again. I love her borsch. Wednesday we had some time after all of our meetings and I got to see the Temple of the Savior, this massive gold and white Russian Orthodox temple.
We spent the night at the office elder apartment with a bunch of other elders so I could make it to my trainer meeting in the morning. I met my new companion, Elder Webb, and we did some trainings. We spent the night at the office elders again, because Friday was my visa trip! Every 3 months we have to leave Russia to renew our visa trips, so we flew into Riga, Latvia with a group of 8 guys and came back to Moscow that night. Unfortunately, we don't get to go out into the city, but we still had a blast. Elder Morris left to Ryazan that night, and he took the service coordinator assignment with him (whew...).
Saturday we spent the day preparing the grounds of a veterans home for winter, and then played pool and chess with some of the staff and residents. After that we set expectations and goals for our companionship.
Sunday we got a new investigator, Georgi. We are excited to work with him, now that the University Elders have passed him. We also taught third hour for the entire adult membership of the ward. It was a little intimidating, but we broke it up so each companionship had a part.
So Elder Webb. He's from Chicago, did a year at BYU, and loves music. He was actually supposed to be in my group for reporting to the MTC (I'm fairly sure he was supposed to be my MTC companion in Provo) but snowboarded into a restricted area for like 10 seconds and got put on probation for three months. He almost didn't make it to Russia. But, he is a stellar individual and we are going to get along awesome.
