С Новым Годом!

С Новым Годом!
(Happy New Years!)

Ded Moroz (Father Frost, Russian Santa) at Victory Gates

We had a stellar week this week. The highlight of the week was taking one of the volunteers from our ward to her setting apart and seeing her off. Her name is Luda, and she is going back to her home mission of Vladivostok. Never have I met anyone more prepared for a mission.

We spent all of Tuesday with Elder Henriksen, one of our senior Elders. He came and helped us take Luda's bags, and do service at an English center. Afterwards he treated the Elders to a pancake dinner.

On top of that, we managed to get a ton of service cranked out this week. We headed out into the suburbs to meet with one of our less active members, and stopped by quite a few more. On New Year's Eve, we went to a party at the apartment of one of our YSA, Artur. We helped him cook and played games before we left. The fireworks here in Moscow are RIDICULOUS. They went for probably 12 hours straight, and were louder than gunshots. It was quite the spectacle.

In other news, I translated during sacrament meeting and gave a full blessing in Russian. Google Translate ain't got nothing on me.

As the new year begins, I invite everyone, as they create goals, to include in their goals something that will bring them closer to the Savior and facilitate spiritual growth. I can promise as you do, you will find the year to be happier.

With love
