Picnics and Piano Guys

Привет всем!

We had a week of miracles in the University Area. Our investigators Oleg and Vova are progressing really well. We had a super spiritual meeting with Oleg about baptism as a commandment. One of the American interns here sat on the lesson and we just triple-teamed him with testimony. Unofrtunately, he still feels he is not ready, even though he believes it is all true.

We took Oleg with us to a devotional given by the Piano Guys. It was amazing-they only played five or so songs. The rest was a Q&A where they just used every possible opportunity to bear testimony.

Later in the week, we randomly ran into some dude in the store wearing a "SALT LAKE CITY, UT" t-shirt. I wanted to talk to him, but we were with a member (and the guy was buying a TON of beer). I didn't talk to him the first time we saw him. But then we saw him 3 more times in the store, and I finally approached him. His name is Aleksey, and he is in his 60s or so. He had been in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada last summer, and really loved Temple Square. He said he would love to find out more, so we exchanged information. It is amazing how the Lord puts people in our path and guides us to them.

Saturday we had our ward picnic. We grilled шашлык, which are just really big kebabs. Everyone played volleyball, soccer, and spikeball while the little kids chased each other around with NERF guns. It was a great opportunity to help some of our investigators integrate themselves into the ward.

We did great work, felt a great spirit, and worked with amazing people this past week. The amount of work we are doing has now exceeded the amount being done before the law was passed outlawing public proselyting. There were baptisms in 3 wards in the stake on Saturday. Truly, the Lord's work is moving forth, faster than ever before!
