We Did It!

The week started off not too bad down here in University. Oleg has been ready for baptism for so long. The only thing holding him back was reading the Book of Mormon. Problem is, he leaves on vacation with his parents next week. So we decided to do a read-a-thon. We scheduled 6 hours, got snacks, and set up the ping pong table for short breaks.

We didn't finish the Book of Mormon, but we did commit him to baptism this Saturday! Oleg will be joining the church July 1. It's amazing to see the difference since he made the decision. His countenance has completely changed. He can't wipe that goofy smile he's wearing in that picture off of his face:)

That, of course, was the highlight of the week.

Oleg was really our focus. We had other meetings and lessons which were great, but we devoted our time to meeting with him and preparing him. We decided a long time ago, after a lot of prayer that he would be baptized July 1, and we were starting to get a little worried. But the Lord had it all under control. He know His children better than they know themselves.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity the Lord has given me to participate in His work. I'm grateful for the faith-promoting experiences I have each day. Most of all, I am grateful for the infinite love and patience of Heavenly Father to all his children.

We also had a lesson in a Chinese tea shop this week (the tea was herbal, no worries)
